Ted Faye was on hand to sign the jacket of his Video "Death Valley Memories".

His documentary has been showcased on KCET and generated more than a little bit of interest.

Joan Brook, Author of "Desert Padre", a story heralding the life and times of Father John Crowley.

She explains that Crowley Lake was named after Father John Crowley, as she signs a copy of her book.
Bill Mann was on hand accompanied by Dottie his wife of 46 years to sign his book a Guide to 50 Interesting and Mysterious Sites in the Mojave.

Bill has a web site for the Mojave Desert Explorers 4 wheel drive club in Barstow, California, part of the Mojave River Valley Museum, web site http://wemweb.com/shortfuse/group

I forgot to ask if "shortfuse" works where Dottie is concerned. I may want to try that with my wife Sandy.

Russell Spencer felt that with the changing face of the desert a book that could be up to date was needed.

He authored Windshield Adventuring in Southern & Central Nevada.

Kathy Spencer set up the Web site to keep the book updated www.windshieldadventures.com.

Incidentally Kathy builds web sites and teaches many modern PC applications. Check out their site.

Colleen Schondel was there exhibiting the beautiful quilts.

Mr. James L. Gray, was there with several very interesting entries in the Photo Contest. Mr. Gray lives at the Barstow Veteran's Home. He is a professional photographer. For the background in this photo I used a faded image of one of his entries which will be on display at the museum for a short time.
Nancy Weir was there to give the most interesting presentation about rock art I have ever heard. She is the president of the Southern Nevada Rock Art Enthusiasts. Her email address is: sunray@vegas.infi.net

On our way out of the museum we stopped to view a inorganic substance exhibit presented by Robert Hilburn. The stone tools and his stories were so interesting it was hard to get a clear picture of him because of the people gathering around.
